The selection of acid resistant pumps in Dalian needs to focus on the three core factors of medium characteristics, operating conditions, and operational safety, and comprehensively evaluate seven key parameters to ensure the corrosion resistance, conveying efficiency, and service life of the pump.
This problem is well grasped, and the core pain points of acid resistant pumps are "corrosion resistance" and "adaptation to working conditions". All parameters are developed around these two points, and neglecting one may lead to selection failure.
1、Medium characteristic parameters (determining the material and seal of the pump)
This is the main prerequisite for selecting acid resistant pumps, which directly affects whether the pump can withstand medium corrosion, avoid leakage or damage.
Medium name and composition: Clearly indicate whether it is an acid (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), alkali, or other corrosive liquid, and whether it contains solid particles (such as mud like acid liquid). Different components correspond to different corrosion-resistant materials, such as PVC or fluoroplastic commonly used in hydrochloric acid, and cast iron or Hastelloy commonly used in concentrated sulfuric acid.
Medium temperature (T): High temperature will accelerate corrosion and affect material properties. Higher, lower, and normal operating temperatures of the medium need to be provided, for example, the temperature tolerance of ordinary fluoroplastic pumps is usually ≤ 120 ℃, and high-temperature special materials need to be selected if it exceeds this limit.
Medium concentration (C): The corrosiveness of the same acid varies greatly depending on its concentration. For example, 30% hydrochloric acid has strong corrosiveness, while 98% concentrated sulfuric acid has weaker corrosiveness, and the corresponding pump material selection is completely different.
Medium viscosity (μ): The higher the viscosity, the worse the liquid flowability, which will increase pipeline resistance and reduce the actual flow rate of the pump. Need to provide the kinematic viscosity (unit: cSt), and when the viscosity is high, choose a low-speed pump or a special impeller structure.
2、Operating condition requirement parameters (determining the flow rate and head of the pump)
These parameters directly determine whether the pump can meet the production and transportation requirements, and are the core of matching pump performance.
Actual flow demand (Qactual): refers to the volume or mass of the medium that needs to be transported per unit time, usually measured in m ³/h or L/min. Calculate according to the maximum flow rate of the production process, and reserve a margin of 10% -20% to avoid insufficient flow during fluctuations in operating conditions.
Actual head demand (H actual): refers to the total resistance that needs to be overcome during the conveying process, including static head (conveying height difference), pipeline resistance (pipeline length, diameter), local resistance (valves, elbows), and outlet pressure demand (such as feeding into a high-pressure reactor). After calculating the total, a margin of 10% -20% should be reserved to ensure sufficient head.
3、Operating safety parameters (determining the stability and adaptability of the pump)
These parameters affect the long-term stable operation of the pump and prevent malfunctions caused by environmental or system issues.
Installation environment: It is necessary to clarify whether the pump is installed indoors or outdoors, and whether there are explosion-proof requirements (such as transporting volatile acidic media). Outdoor installation should consider rain and frost protection, and explosion-proof motors should be selected for explosion-proof environments.
Inhalation condition: the relative height (NPSH) between the installation position of the pump and the liquid level of the medium. If the liquid level is lower than the pump inlet, the allowable maximum suction height should be calculated to avoid cavitation and damage to the impeller due to insufficient suction.
