How to troubleshoot and solve the vibration problem of Dalian acid resistant pump?

The working principle of Dalian acid resistant pump is similar to that of ordinary pump, mainly relying on the rotation of the impeller to generate centrifugal force, so that the liquid forms a low-pressure zone at the center of the impeller, which sucks the liquid into the impeller and obtains kinetic energy and pressure energy under the action of the impeller. Then, the liquid is discharged through the pump casing to achieve the transportation of acidic medium.

How to troubleshoot and solve the vibration problem of Dalian acid resistant pump?

Mechanical aspect

The pump shaft and motor shaft are not concentric

Troubleshooting method: Use tools such as a dial gauge to check the concentricity of the pump shaft and motor shaft, observe the swing of the dial gauge pointer, and determine the degree of deviation from concentricity.

Solution: Adjust the installation position of the pump and motor, or add or remove gaskets to achieve the specified concentricity requirement between the pump shaft and the motor shaft.

Unbalanced impeller

Troubleshooting method: The impeller can be removed and subjected to a dynamic balancing test on a balancing machine to check if the unbalance of the impeller exceeds the allowable range. You can also observe the appearance of the impeller and check for wear, corrosion, deformation, or foreign object attachment.

Solution: Perform dynamic balance correction on the impeller by removing or adding counterweights to achieve a balanced state. If the impeller is severely worn, corroded, or deformed, it should be replaced with a new impeller in a timely manner.

Bearing damage

Troubleshooting method: Listen for any abnormal noise in the bearing area, touch the bearing seat with your hand to feel if the temperature is too high, and use a vibration detector to detect the vibration spectrum of the bearing and analyze whether there are characteristic frequencies of bearing faults.

Solution: Replace the damaged bearings and check if the installation of the bearings is correct, ensuring that the installation clearance meets the requirements and that the bearings are well lubricated.

Loose anchor bolts or unstable foundation

Troubleshooting method: Visually observe whether there are signs of looseness in the anchor bolts, and use a wrench to check the tightness of the bolts. Check for cracks, sinking, and other issues in the foundation by tapping the surface and listening to the sound to determine the compactness of the foundation.

Solution: Tighten the anchor bolts and reinforce the foundation, such as repairing cracks, pouring the foundation again, etc., to ensure that the foundation can withstand the operating weight and vibration of the pump.

Fluid aspect

Cavitation phenomenon

Troubleshooting method: Observe the pressure changes at the inlet and outlet of the pump. If the inlet pressure is too low, close to or lower than the vaporization pressure of the liquid, cavitation may occur. Check whether the suction pipeline of the pump is blocked or leaking, and whether the liquid temperature is too high, which may cause cavitation. Meanwhile, observe whether there is a significant decrease in the flow rate and head of the pump, which is also a common phenomenon of cavitation.

Solution: Increase the diameter of the suction pipeline, reduce pipeline resistance, and increase the inlet pressure of the pump. Check and repair the leakage point in the suction pipeline, reduce the liquid temperature, and avoid liquid vaporization. If cavitation is caused by the installation height of the pump being too high, the installation position of the pump can be appropriately lowered.

Unstable or abnormal traffic

Troubleshooting method: Check if the opening of the inlet and outlet valves is appropriate, and if there are any blockages or leaks in the pipelines. Observe whether the reading of the flowmeter is stable, and analyze the pattern and amplitude of flow fluctuations.

Solution: Adjust the opening of the inlet and outlet valves to ensure that the flow rate is within the design range of the pump. Clean the blockages in the pipeline and repair the leakage points. If there is a large fluctuation in flow due to system requirements, it may be considered to install a flow regulating device, such as a frequency converter, to stabilize the operating flow of the pump.

Installation and process aspects

Unreasonable pipeline layout

Troubleshooting method: Check the direction, support, and fixation of the pipeline to see if there is any stress applied to the pump body by the pipeline. Check whether there are issues such as pressure build-up and air resistance in the pipeline.

Solution: Readjust the layout of the pipeline to ensure natural and smooth connections, and avoid additional stress on the pump body caused by the pipeline. Reasonably set the slope and exhaust point of the pipeline to eliminate air resistance. Increase the support and fixing points of the pipeline to reduce the transmission of pipeline vibration to the pump body.

Process parameters do not match the pump

Troubleshooting method: Compare the flow rate, head, medium characteristics and other parameters required by the process with the design parameters of the pump to see if they match. Analyzing whether the viscosity, density, and other characteristics of the medium have changed is beyond the scope of the pump's application.

Solution: If the process parameters exceed the design range of the pump, the pump should be re selected and replaced with a suitable one according to the actual situation. If there is only a slight change in the characteristics of the medium, the performance of the pump can be matched with the process parameters by adjusting the pump speed, impeller diameter, and other methods.

Regularly check the operation sound and vibration of the acid resistant pump, as well as the current, temperature and other parameters of the motor, to ensure smooth operation of the pump without abnormal sound and vibration. If any abnormalities are found, the machine should be stopped for inspection and troubleshooting in a timely manner. Check if there is any leakage at the shaft seal. If any leakage is found, replace the seal or adjust the seal in a timely manner. For mechanical seals, it is also necessary to check the wear of the sealing surface. If there is severe wear, the mechanical seal components should be replaced in a timely manner.
